　　1. The Rocky Mountains 落基山脉: are considered as “the backbone of the continent” and are considered young mountains of the same age as the Alps in Europe, Himalayas in Asia, and the Andes in South America. They include the highest peak, Mount McKinley (麦金利山, formerly known as Denali), 6,187 meters high, in the middle of the Alaska.

　　2. The Rockies, the backbone of the North America Continent, is also known as the Continental Divide. 落基山脉是北美大陆的脊梁，也被称为大陆分水岭。

　　3. Yellowstone National Park黄石国家公园: is the oldest national park in the world and the largest wildlife preserve in the U.S.A..

　　Great Salt Lake: the largest inland salt lake in North America. It has water 15 times saltier than ocean water and it is a great place for floating.位于犹他州Utah

　　5. The Rio Grande River forms a natural boundary between Mexico and the United States.格兰德河是美国和墨西哥之间的天然界河。

　　6. Colorado has been called “the steel city of the west”. Denver is the largest city of the Great Plain.科罗拉多市被称作“西部钢城”，丹佛市是大平原地区最大的城市。

　　7. The largest groups of Native Americans are found on the Colorado Plateau.
