　　Colds

　　Colds are more common in winter, but not because of low temperatures.

　　The cold weather just means people stay inside more.

　　People tend to congregate and be together,and the way the common cold virus

　　is transmitted from one person to anotheris through handshakes,through sneezing,

　　or coughing on one another.

　　Adults generally get two to three colds a year.

　　Children are likely to catch four or five.

　　There are about two hundred different viruses that cause the common

　　cold.

　　People mistakenly think that once they get infected one time they won't

　　catch colds.

　　There is still no cure for the common cold.

　　But there are ways to feel better sooner.

　　If you get a cold and on day one you start taking about two grams of

　　vitamin C a day,there is evidence that it might shorten the number of days that

　　you will be suffering with these symptoms.

　　感冒

　　人们在冬天更容易患感冒，但这并非是天气冷的缘故，

　　而是人们在这样的天气里待在屋子里的时间更长。

　　人们聚在一起，感冒病毒通过握手，喷嚏或咳嗽传播。

　　成年人一般每年感冒两三次，

　　而小孩很可能要感冒四五次。

　　大约有两百种病毒会使我们患上感冒，

　　人们常常错误地认为只要我们得过一次感冒，以后就会对感冒终生免疫，其实不然。

　　虽然现在还没有治愈感冒的药，

　　但是有几种方法可以缓解感冒的症状;

　　如每天服用两克的维生素C。有证据表明,它可能会缩短你的感冒时间。
