  WAITER: Certainly. Would you rather have boiled rice or fried rice? '

  SUSAN: I'd rather have boiled rice. What about you, Peter?

  PETER: O.K. We'll have boiled rice, please.

  WAITER: Right. Chopsticks or a spoon and fork?

  PETER: Chopsticks, please.

  WAITER: A spoon and fork for you, then.

  第二部分:英语词汇表达

  rock and roll 摇摆舞;摇摆舞曲(口语里往往周folk 一词表示folk music, 用rock 一词表示rock and roll。)

  IDIOM习语

  (I'II eat them) till the cows come home 这个习语在歌中出现,意思是:香蕉吃个没完没了。习语的本意是:长时间地;永远地。

  表示喜欢什么

  表示不喜欢什么

  I'm not keen on folk

  (这四句话,语气一个比一个强)

  -No,I don't

  Does he like bananas?

  2. PREFERENCES (CHOOSING) 选择

  Would you prefer prawns or fish?

  (I'd prefer) fish, thanks

  Would you rather have…

  (I'd like) fish, thanks

  What are you going to have?

  (I'll have) fish, thanks

  在回答的时候,I'd prefer等常可省略。

  PRONUNCIATION CORNER

  a)注意两种说法的区别:

  I'd like表示在特定的场合下我要什么东西。而I like表示我一般喜欢什么东西。

  此外,I'd prefer 表示在特定的场合下我选择、喜欢或要什么(现在或将来)。而I prefer 表示我一般喜欢什么。

  b)练习用升调(↗)或降调(↘)问问题

  Do you like bananas(↗)?

  What are you going to have(↗↘)

  Would you prefer prawns or fish(↘)?

  c)练习将下列短语里的and读作[ən]:

  Sweet and sour pork

  Rock and roll

  A spoon and fork
