　　Directions: For this part, you are allowed thirty minutes to write a composition on the topic We Need to Broaden Our Knowledge. You should write no less than 120 words and you should base your composition on the outline (given in Chinese) below:

　　1.科学技术是社会发展所不可缺少的;

　　2.社会科学和自然科学相互渗透;

　　3.现代大学生需要广博的知识。

　　We Need to Broaden Our Knowledge

　　As is known to all, science and technology is an indispensable part in the development of have died before they can reach the age of 30. Without science and technology, man would have still been in the primitive state. Inaword, all the achievements of mankind are due to the development of science and technology.

　　Social science and natural science are inseparable from each other, although the former contributes to the spiritual development of human beings and the latter is primarily concerned with the understanding of the world and the making of things. Social science will not develop without the new discoveries of natural science about the world. Similarly, natural science will cease to advance without the philosophy provided by social science. This kind of relationship has become even closer in modern society. A great number of new inventions come into existence on the bases of the two sciences.

　　Therefore, as college students, we need to broaden of knowledge. We ought to learn as much knowledge of the two sciences as possible so that we may be of great help in the construction of our country.
